Racing

Having built several C1, C2 and C3 Corvettes over 25+ years, there is little we don't know about making competitive racecars

With FIA guidelines restricting drivetrains, suspension and brakes, the real way to get mid-year Corvettes going fast is to get them to handle, the cornerstone of this is to control weight. Often when people learn that Corvette’s are made of fiberglass, they assume that this means lightweight.

If any of you have ever carried a Corvette Coupe door over your shoulder, you will know that this is far from the truth. Ignoring the years of wear and tear, multiple paint jobs and tubs of filler, these bodies were heavy from the factory.

Here at The Corvette Factory, we can offer different thickness bodies from ultra-lightweight for drag racing to lightweight and reinforced bodies for Historic road racing.

Complete bodies weigh from as little as 100kgs or 220lbs.

Race Parts

For anyone building a C1, C2 or C3 race car, it is simplest to call, we stock a long list of parts such as FIA headlight kits, plexiglass or lexan windows, race suspension, quicksteer kits, wheels, tyres and more.

Experience

Between Bernie, Simeon and Adam, the Chodosh’s own five C1, C2 and C3 race cars so have all the knowledge of how to prepare chassis, suspension and bodies to extract every last ounce of performance. Through our network of approved and reliable machinists, engineers, fabricators and mechanics we can organise work on your car to deliver all the necessary tricks to make it perform. This includes chassis preparation to seam weld, gusset and strengthen Chassis or the conversion to more modern coilover suspension. Please call to discuss your project or for guidance.

Ever heard of a J56 twin-pin racing caliper conversion? If the answer is no, then the likelihood is that you are leaving time on the table to competitors who own cars that have been worked on by people who raced back in the day… Call us for help and advice any time.
